• Our approach

  KoolKATTS uses a playful, comforting, inclusive, nurturing, supportive and empowering approach to therapy. Sessions are built around evidence-based practices including DIR Floortime (relationship-based and child-led), Sensory Integration Therapy, and innovative group programmes. The clinic is custom-designed to support each child's learning, with rooms sized for both motor development and focused attention work. All clinicians complete specialist training in DIR Floortime with ongoing mentoring from experienced trainers, ensuring every child receives therapy tailored to their specific needs and goals.

• Working with families

  KoolKATTS strongly encourages parents to participate in therapy sessions to empower them with the confidence to continue skills taught in clinic at home and in the community. The provider works collaboratively with everyone in a child's life who contributes to their development, and offers individualised parent consultations alongside therapy sessions. Sessions are designed so parents feel they are in the 'driver's seat' of their child's development, gaining the knowledge and strategies needed to support progress beyond the clinic.

• Meet the team

  KoolKATTS is led by Kimberlee Hughes, an Occupational Therapist and Owner with a Master of Occupational Therapy from Ulster University and specialist training in DIR Floortime and Sensory Integration. Michelle serves as Team Leader and Clinical Lead in Occupational Therapy, holding a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy with extensive international experience across hospitals, schools, rehabilitation and private clinics. Bec is Team Leader and Clinical Lead for Speech Pathology, and Ira is a Senior Occupational Therapist and Student Coordinator. The leadership team collectively has over 50 years of clinical experience, and all clinicians undergo a one-year postgraduate certificate in DIR Floortime with weekly mentoring from highly experienced trainers.
