Our approach
Kids Clinic offers compassionate, evidence-based care using a multidisciplinary approach to support children's health and development. Sessions are tailored to each child's needs and may include informal assessments conducted by experienced paediatricians and allied health professionals. The clinic focuses on thorough, gentle assessment and management of behavioural and developmental conditions, with appointments typically lasting between 10 to 60 minutes depending on complexity. Staff listen attentively to parents' concerns and discuss care in detail, creating a supportive environment where questions are always welcome. The approach emphasizes collaboration between families and health professionals to work towards positive outcomes.
Working with families
Parents are encouraged to feel comfortable asking questions and voicing concerns, as trust is paramount in the relationship between families and health professionals. Staff listen attentively to each parent and discuss care details in depth, ensuring you understand your child's needs and the management plan. You'll work collaboratively with the team, with communication continuing through follow-up reviews at 1-3 months and 3-6 months as needed to monitor progress. Reports from schools and other professionals are requested and reviewed with you to support ongoing care, and the paediatrician provides a summary report of findings and recommendations to guide your next steps.
Meet the team
The team includes specialist paediatricians (Dr Sam Nassar, Dr Iman Hegazy, and Dr Frank Chen) alongside psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, ABA therapists, dietitians, and a podiatrist. Staff are highly experienced and fully trained, with extensive backgrounds in hospitals, health centres, and schools across Sydney. Key team members include Mrs Delfa Kaabi, a Paediatric Dietitian with a Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and specialist training in feeding therapy; Mrs Cindy Rahal, a Paediatric Occupational Therapist; Ms Ayla Herskind, an ABA Therapist and Behavioural Counsellor; and Mr Usama Fayad, a Podiatrist with an interest in children's podiatry. All professionals are accredited in accordance with their respective colleges and associations.
Your first visit
At your first appointment, arrive 20 minutes early to complete online registration, and allow time for a potential 30-minute wait. The paediatrician will gather details about your child's health and concerns, and may conduct informal assessments to help inform diagnosis. You should bring a valid GP referral letter, Medicare card, and any previous reports from schools or other health professionals. The paediatrician will begin developing a management plan while further assessments are being arranged if needed, with a multidisciplinary approach considered to support the final outcome. A summary report with findings and recommendations will be provided to guide next steps.
