Our approach
Hunter Rehabilitation and Health uses evidence-based practice and tailored programs designed by accredited exercise physiologists to meet you where you are and help you reach your goals. During each session, the team works with clients to support their personal health and wellbeing objectives, whether you're an athlete, managing an illness, or returning to physical activity. Sessions are designed to be enjoyable and beneficial to your recovery process, typically running 30–60 minutes after the initial consultation. The philosophy centres on active-based physical rehabilitation that supports your recovery without impeding your lifestyle, with the team making every effort to ensure sessions fit with your needs.
Meet the team
Hunter Rehabilitation and Health is staffed by University Qualified and Accredited Exercise Physiologists who use evidence-based practice to prescribe and deliver effective exercise programs. The team is based at two locations—Waratah and Raymond Terrace—and brings specialised knowledge across a range of conditions including musculoskeletal, psychological, cardiopulmonary, neurological, and metabolic disorders. The clinic has been recognised with multiple awards, including 2018 Health Improvement Business of the Year and 2018 Australian Exercise Physiologist of the Year, reflecting the expertise and commitment of the team. The exercise physiologists work collaboratively with your existing allied health professionals to design the right program for your needs.
Your first visit
Your initial consultation will be completed with an accredited exercise physiologist who will discuss your health and wellness goals, concerns, and challenges you want to explore. From there, the team designs a tailored program supported by the exercise physiology team to help you recover from injury or illness, support your exercise goals, return to work, or reach other objectives. The clinic recommends discussing your recovery protocol with your exercise physiologist to ensure the ongoing appointments suit your specific needs. This personalised approach means your program is carefully planned from the start to set you up for success.
