Our approach
Gateway Psychological Services offers evidence-based psychological therapy using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and behavioural therapy approaches. Sessions are tailored to your child's needs and delivered by experienced psychologists who create a calm, supportive environment. The team believes that feeling safe and comfortable within the therapeutic relationship is essential for positive change. Your first visit
At your first appointment, the friendly team takes time to listen carefully to your situation and explain the services available, fees, and how the clinic works. You'll feel clear and confident about which services are right for your child before your appointment begins. The psychologist will gather information about your child's concerns and background to understand their needs fully. For cognitive assessments specifically, the process is designed to be fun and relaxed, with activities presented as games rather than tests, and breaks provided as needed. The team ensures your child feels as calm and comfortable as possible throughout the entire initial process.
