• Our approach

  Fruitful Speech Therapy starts with building rapport and trust, spending time upfront to understand your child's needs and create a safe space for learning. Sessions are tailored to be engaging and practical, with a focus on developing functional skills that boost independence, confidence and participation in everyday life. The philosophy centres on working closely with clients and their support networks, as this approach makes the biggest impact. Every bit of progress is celebrated, and the team is committed to empowering children and families while helping them achieve meaningful outcomes they actually care about.

• Working with families

  Parent involvement is a core part of the approach, with a strong emphasis on coaching and supporting carers as a way to strengthen communication development and family relationships. Both speech pathologists are dedicated to family-centred therapy and believe that supporting the adults in a child's life supports the child's progress. The philosophy emphasises working closely with clients and their support networks from the start, and the team prioritises ongoing communication and partnership with families throughout therapy.

• Meet the team

  The team includes two Certified Practising Speech Pathologists: Daniela Kwan (Director) with a Master's degree from the University of Sydney and expertise in early intervention, autism and neurodiversity-affirming care; and Brooke Blacksands from New Zealand with a Master's degree and specialised training in child- and family-centred therapy. Supporting the team are Danya El-Asmar, an allied health assistant and speech pathology student, and Dr Fadi Gharbia, a speech therapy assistant with medical qualifications and 14 years of clinical experience. The clinic is also supported by Cindy Phipps in administration.
