  • Our approach

Early Bird Therapy Services uses play-based therapy as a tool to help children practise communication skills, functional life skills and social skills in a natural and engaging way. Each session is carefully planned with specific goals in mind, tailored to your child's individual needs. The team is trained in a variety of specialised programs including the Hanen Program, Story Champs, Sounds-Write, and others, so they can support each child in the way that works best for them. Play ensures your child stays intrinsically motivated and makes learning fun and meaningful. Sessions focus on the goals that matter most to your family, whether that's speech, occupational therapy, or both.

  • Working with families

The provider is built around the needs and wants of Early Bird families, with programs designed to help your child work on the goals that matter most to you. At assessment, therapists work directly with families to identify areas of concern and design individualised goals together. The Hanen Program, which is part of their offerings, specifically focuses on helping parents and carers support their child's communication in everyday life. Regular goal review ensures ongoing communication between the provider and families as your child progresses.

  • Your first visit

At an initial appointment, the therapist will conduct assessments to analyse your child's overall development and identify areas of concern with you, educators, and through direct assessment of your child. Following this, the therapist will work with you to design a set of individualised therapy goals that suit your child's specific needs. These goals are reviewed regularly as your child progresses, ensuring the therapy remains focused on what matters most to your family. The assessment process helps create a personalised plan that guides all future sessions.
