Our approach
Connect PBS uses a person-centred positive behaviour support approach tailored to each individual's needs. The director, a doctoral-level behaviour support practitioner, develops individualised behaviour support plans that guide families and carers in implementing strategies to enhance quality of life. Sessions focus on practical support and guidance delivered either in-person or from home, depending on what works best for your family. The service emphasises long-term, consistent relationships between practitioners and participants, building on expertise in PBS to create meaningful progress together.
Working with families
Connect PBS values close partnership with families and carers as part of their commitment to long-term support. They gather information from family, school, and other parties when developing behaviour support plans and creating reports. The service is designed to support families by providing guidance and practical strategies they can implement at home. Communication and collaboration are central to their approach, ensuring families are involved in planning and have access to consistent practitioners who understand their child's needs.
Meet the team
The team is led by Dr Zhaoen (Penny) Pan, the director and a doctoral-level behaviour support practitioner. She holds a Doctorate in Social Work from Monash University and brings more than 7 years of experience in social work teaching and research, plus around 4 years of practice as a behaviour support practitioner. She also has background experience in mental health and counselling. As a bilingual practitioner fluent in English and Chinese, she provides services tailored to language preferences and is dedicated to consistent, person-centred support.
Your first visit
Initial contact begins with a free 30-minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and eligibility. You can book this consultation by filling out a referral form or by texting directly to schedule. During this initial discussion, the team gathers information about your situation and explores how Connect PBS can best support you. If you don't already have PBS funding in your NDIS plan, they can help by creating a Functional Behaviour Analysis Report, which includes gathering information from family, school, and other relevant parties to support your funding application.
