Our approach
Cherished Minds takes a personalised, evidence-based approach tailored to each child's individual needs. Sessions focus on helping children understand their feelings, build confidence, and develop coping skills to support emotional wellbeing, manage behavioural challenges and anxiety, and navigate life transitions. The team works with a range of therapeutic modalities including play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and psycho-educational approaches. Whether delivered in-person in Liverpool or via telehealth across Australia, the service aims to foster resilience and long-term wellbeing for each child and family.
Working with families
Parent and carer support is a core part of Cherished Minds' service, with dedicated guidance and support sessions available for parents navigating parenting and family challenges. The team actively involves families throughout the therapeutic journey, ensuring parents feel listened to, supported and welcomed at every step. Family feedback highlights that from the moment families arrive, they are greeted warmly and made to feel they are not a burden, fostering a collaborative approach where parents and carers are valued partners in supporting their child's wellbeing.
Meet the team
Cherished Minds has an experienced team of registered psychologists and provisional psychologists, including the director and several senior practitioners with board-approved supervisor qualifications. The team brings expertise in child and adolescent psychology, diagnostic assessments (including ADHD and autism spectrum diagnosis), intelligence testing, and specialised programs such as the Cool Kids anxiety program. Team members include both experienced psychologists and those in provisional registration, all working collaboratively to support children, teens, and families across the clinic's in-person and telehealth services.
