• Our approach

  The school emphasises independent living skill development and functional academics for all students. Programs focus on building essential independent living skills, social skills and effective communication, with students learning cooking, laundry, gardening, housekeeping and self-care through purpose-built facilities. Physical education includes swimming, dancing and physical therapy, while protective behaviours are taught both as a discrete subject and embedded across the curriculum. Being on a shared campus with a mainstream primary school also allows students to integrate into classes like music, art and physical education, as well as participate in assemblies and community events.

• Meet the team

  The leadership team includes Principal Seth Willingham, Associate Principal Katrina DiConza, Manager Corporate Services Bronwyn Van Heekeren, and School Officer Jemima Eckersley. Classroom staff comprise qualified teachers (including specialists in autism early intervention) and education assistants distributed across six rooms from kindergarten to Year 6. Teachers deliver curriculum and personalised learning plans, while education assistants provide day-to-day support. The school also offers physical therapy programs as part of its comprehensive approach.
