  • Our approach

BillyLids Therapy uses a play-based approach where toys and games are woven into therapy as therapeutic tools to help children learn while they laugh. Sessions are tailored to each child's unique interests, needs, and how their brain works, blending evidence-based techniques with a playful atmosphere. Speech pathology supports children with challenges like articulation, language development, social communication, stuttering, and literacy through engaging activities and interactive resources. Occupational therapy helps children develop essential life skills including fine and gross motor skills, handwriting, sensory processing, play, social interaction, and independence in daily tasks. The clinic is designed as an enchanting, whimsical space where therapy feels fun rather than clinical.

  • Working with families

Family is a priority at BillyLids Therapy; while your child is always the primary focus, supporting and empowering families delivers better outcomes for everyone. The team works closely with parents and carers to set goals and support both the child and the family unit as a whole. Services include parent coaching and family support, and the therapists coordinate and communicate with your child's broader care team, including specialists, schools, and daycare providers, helping to reduce the time you need to spend managing care coordination. The clinic also offers community and home visits to support children in their own spaces and environments, and creates resources that help teachers and carers support your child's development.

  • Meet the team

BillyLids Therapy was founded by sisters Rachelle, a speech pathologist and director with a Masters qualification and background in nursing and midwifery, and Rosanna, a Senior Occupational Therapist and Allied Health Manager who graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012 with extensive experience working with children with autism, developmental delays, and physical disabilities. The team includes Joan, a Senior Speech Pathologist with over 40 years of experience in complex communication disorders and AAC tools who now mentors junior staff, and Amelia, a Senior Speech Pathologist with clinical supervision and educator experience. Additional speech pathologists include Olivia, Abigail, Shari, Tess, Samara, and Paige, each bringing varied experience in paediatric practice, early intervention, literacy, and diverse communication needs. All therapists have a dedication to paediatric practice and continuous professional development.

  • Your first visit

The first step is to book a free discovery call where you can chat through how BillyLids' allied health specialists can support your child and discuss your child's needs, goals, and interests. During this conversation, the team can answer questions about funding options, the therapy process, and how services are tailored to your child's developmental stage. If you decide to proceed, a formal assessment appointment would follow, during which the therapist gets to know your child and identifies their specific needs. The clinic welcomes children with or without a diagnosis or referral, and offers assessments, therapy planning, and goal setting as part of their comprehensive service approach.
