• Our approach

  Therapy is tailored to each child's individual needs and profile. For speech, approaches include phonological contrast therapy, core vocabulary therapy, phonological awareness therapy, whole language/language immersion therapy, and traditional articulation therapy. For literacy, evidence-based systematic phonics is used, drawing on the Sounds-Write approach and experience from leading clinics. For language disorders, the focus is on developing vocabulary, longer utterances, and narrative skills, with coaching provided for parents and teachers to use strategies at home, school, and in everyday routines. All interventions are grounded in evidence-based principles and tailored to suit each child's unique presentation.

• Working with families

  Parents are actively involved from the initial consultation through assessment and treatment. During the complimentary phone discussion, questions are asked to establish your child's suitability and to address your questions. For language and speech disorders, parents are coached in strategies to use at home and school, as well as in play and everyday routines. Teacher feedback is also gathered and incorporated into assessments when necessary, ensuring a collaborative approach across all environments supporting your child.

• Meet the team

  Dr Rebecca Waring, PhD, is the founder and director and a paediatric speech pathologist with three decades of experience across Australia and Singapore. Since graduating from La Trobe University in 1991, she has worked in early intervention, pre-schools, primary schools, the Royal Children's Hospital, university clinics, and private practice, and has been involved in clinical research, teacher training, student supervision, and university lecturing. Andrea Goding serves as Practice Manager with over 30 years of experience in business administration and operations, ensuring the practice runs smoothly and clients receive excellent support.

• Your first visit

  An initial appointment begins with a complimentary 30-minute phone consultation to discuss your child's needs and determine suitability for services. If your child is suitable, you'll arrange an initial assessment tailored to their requirements, which may be for speech, language, or literacy. Assessments typically take 1–3 hours (spaced out as needed) and include thorough case history, standardised testing, checklists, observations, and teacher feedback when necessary. Following assessment, you'll receive clear results, a differential diagnosis, and an individualised treatment plan to guide the way forward.
