Assist Developmental Therapy provides personalised autism support in Adelaide Hills, Northern Suburbs, and Eastern Suburbs. Their mission is to provide warm, practical, and consistent support that helps children feel safe, understood, and capable, working closely with families, schools, and communities to build confidence, connection, and everyday independence.

- Developmental Educators provide support with emotional regulation, social skills, independence, routines, and everyday life skills across school, home, and community settings.

- Support Workers provide practical, hands-on support at home or in the community to help children practise everyday skills in real-world settings, working alongside families and therapy supports.

Our approach
Assist provides developmental therapy where the same therapist works with your family year after year, building a consistent relationship that drives real change. Rather than clinic-based sessions with rotating staff, sessions happen where your child actually is — in the classroom, playground, or at home — in the everyday moments where real challenges show up. The approach focuses on emotional regulation, behaviour support, social skills, and executive functioning, with standardised assessment built into regular care using tools like the Vineland-3. Every child's progress is measured and documented, ready for plan reviews without needing anything extra. This long-term consistency means your child has someone who truly hears them and advocates for them through school meetings, NDIS reviews, and beyond.
Working with families
The provider builds communication into everyday practice, working alongside families at home and at school to understand your child's real-world challenges and celebrate their progress. Parent feedback is actively taken on and informs strategies shared with both families and schools. The team provides valuable feedback to parents and teachers with practical follow-up strategies, and stays involved in conversations that matter — from school meetings to NDIS plan reviews — advocating for your child's needs. Your child's progress is documented and shared with you regularly, so you're always informed about what's working and how to support their growth at home.
Meet the team
The small, specialised team includes Sarah-Jane Stevens (Co-founder & Clinical Lead), Sophia De Palma (Senior Behavioural Therapist), Jade Banks (Senior Developmental Educator), Maddy Robinson (Developmental Educator), Lloyd Everett (Co-founder & Director), and Missy Stevens (Client & Operations Coordinator). Each therapist is experienced in supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, and complex support needs. The team members are members of Developmental Educators Australia and work collaboratively to provide consistency, with the same Developmental Educator staying with your family year after year to build deep relationships and understanding.
