    Speech therapy at Adventures Speech Therapy focuses on supporting children to develop their speech, language and literacy skills through a range of evidence-based approaches. Sessions address areas including literacy difficulties, speech disorders, language difficulties, and needs of bilingual and multicultural children. The practice uses specific training in programs such as Sounds Write, Talk for Writing and Mastering Morphology. Therapy is tailored to each child's strengths and areas of opportunity, with the treating therapist liaising with parents, teachers and other health professionals where appropriate to ensure a coordinated team approach to treatment.

    Kate Morling is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with over 10 years of experience working with children in private practice and school settings. She is bilingual (English/Spanish) and passionate about supporting children with communication and learning differences, with special interests in literacy difficulties, speech difficulties, language difficulties, and working with bilingual and multicultural families. The practice is a referral partner of SPELD NSW with specific training in evidence-based literacy programs.

  • Your first visit

    The first step is a free 15-minute phone consultation where you can discuss your child's needs and determine if speech therapy is appropriate. This is followed by a formal assessment session with one of the qualified speech pathologists, which usually lasts 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your child's needs. During the assessment, the therapist will investigate your child's strengths and areas of opportunity to establish a baseline from which progress can be measured. Once the assessment is complete and therapy is deemed appropriate, weekly session times will be scheduled with your treating speech pathologist.
