  • Our approach

AbleKids provides evidence-based, family-centered, holistic therapy designed to empower clients to reach their potential and meet their personal goals. The interdisciplinary team works collaboratively in one clinic to support children across occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, psychology, and dietetics. Sessions are flexible and can be delivered in the clinic, at schools and day care centres, community venues, or via telehealth to support remote areas. The approach is client-centered and occupation-focused, with an emphasis on enabling participation and working toward each child's own goals. Therapists aim to get to know clients and their families so they can work together effectively, using the latest evidence-based practices to tailor therapy to each child's distinct needs.

  • Working with families

AbleKids is family-centered and aims to get to know clients and their families so they can work together to achieve goals. The team works collaboratively with families and schools to help clients reach their goals and consistently collaborates with schools and other community organisations. Open communication is valued; parents are encouraged to discuss feedback or concerns with their child's primary therapist as the first step, with additional support available through the formal feedback and complaints process. The provider recognizes that empowering the community around a child is just as important as supporting the child directly, offering workshops for families and support networks.

  • Meet the team

AbleKids has a dedicated interdisciplinary team including occupational therapists (Prue Matthews, Director; Lily Salter; Marina van Niekerk; Clarissa Jordan; Suzanne Bateman), speech pathologists (Laura Coyne; Tara Aziz; Chloe Bogdanich; Kristine Howard; Kate Soong), a psychologist (Karen Bradford), a dietitian (Tamlyn Carstens), and allied health assistants (Donna Iaria, Amity Francis, Lena Scarry, Holly Batten). Team members bring extensive qualifications including university degrees, AHPRA registration where required, and diverse clinical experience across Australia, the UK, and internationally. Many therapists have specialized expertise in early intervention, complex needs, neurodiversity, and family-centered care, with some offering both in-clinic and telehealth services to reach clients across Western Australia.
