  • Our approach

Ability WA uses a person-centred, strength-based approach that focuses on your child's goals and your family's vision. Sessions are tailored to individual needs and delivered by qualified therapists across various settings including clinics, pools, homes and schools. The team works in partnership with families to discover strengths and deliver evidence-based services that align with what matters most to you. Therapy can include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and pool-based sessions, all designed to empower your child to realise their abilities. The organisation has built its reputation on providing excellent service and building strong relationships with families as the key to reaching potential.

  • Working with families

Parents and carers are central to therapy at Ability WA and are actively involved in sessions and planning. Therapists provide coaching and support to families during sessions—for example, helping parents implement sensory and behavioural strategies poolside or working together to support your child's transition between activities. The team regularly updates families on progress, prepares reports for NDIS planning meetings, and communicates about goals and strategies. Feedback is actively encouraged through multiple channels including direct conversation with staff, phone contact, email or formal feedback processes.

  • Meet the team

The therapy team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and therapy assistants, all working together to support your child. Team members have qualifications in their respective fields and collaborate across disciplines—for example, your child's physiotherapist may work alongside their occupational therapist and speech pathologist to address goals holistically. The AbilityTECH team also works closely with therapists and customers to create customised equipment solutions. Staff are experienced in working with children with cerebral palsy, autism and other physical and intellectual disabilities from early infancy through to adulthood.
